Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

I went to one of Deseret Book's Time Out for Women on Saturday in Orlando. Mary Ellen Edmunds hosted, and provided us with this "inspirational" thought...

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD? (With a few of the MANY answers)

DR. SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes! The chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told!

L.A. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Give us five minutes with the chicken and we'll find out.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die. In the rain.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK: To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.

DONALD RUMSFELD: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

FOX MULDER: You saw it cross the road with your own eyes. How many more chickens have to cross before you believe it?

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the chicken?

THE BIBLE: And God said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And it came to pass that the chicken did cross the road, even in the day wherein he was asked to do so, and there was much rejoicing.

GRANDPA: In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.

AL GORE: I invented the chicken!

COLONEL SANDERS: I missed one?

Gordon B. Hinckley-It does no good to have a chicken enter through the front door only to leave through the back door. Every chicken needs three things- to have it's neck rung, to be cooked and to be eaten.
